Updated personality reporting
At Fairsight, we continuously improve our products based on research, user feedback and developments in assessment practice. This time we’re updating our reports for our personality questionnaires Personality Full and Personality Compact. Within the next few days, our reports will become easier to use, more informative, and provide for more in-depth feedback conversations.
A clearer way to compare candidates and discuss results
Applies to:
- Personality Full
- Personality Compact
We’ve divided the reports into two modes: Comparison and Individual, each with their own distinct purpose.
Because the two views answer different questions, they can sometimes point in different directions. A candidate might describe themselves as high on a trait yet score around average in the Comparison view, simply because the reference group described themselves in much the same way. In other words, the Individual view describes the candidate on their own terms, while the Comparison View shows how they differ from others. Each view has its own purpose, which is why the report shows both, and you can pick the format that best fits the conversation you’re having.
Comparison view is for comparing the candidate to their peers, and allows you to compare their results to a norm group. Are they more open to perspectives compared to other managers? Are they more ambitious than most graduates? If using your own custom reference group, how do they compare to their new colleagues? This mode easily lets you identify how the candidate performs compared to others.
Individual view shows the candidate’s results on their own terms without any reference groups. It shows how the candidate describes themselves, and is especially useful for feedback, coaching and development, where the focus is on the person.
New and improved feedback content
Applies to:
- Personality Full
- Personality Compact
For each personality trait, the report now includes:
- A definition of the trait, so it’s clear exactly what the scale measures.
- An improved description of the candidate’s result, explaining what their score means and their expected behavior.
- Example items from the questionnaire, giving a clearer sense of what the candidate responded to and how they got their score.
- Potential strengths and watch-outs, highlighting how the candidate’s typical behavior may contribute positively, as well as where it could create challenges, reduce their effectiveness or require development.
- A numerical score rarely tells the full story. By providing examples of potential implications, the results become easier to interpret and provide a better starting point for meaningful feedback conversations.
Directness has been replaced by the trait Compassion
Applies to:
- Personality Full
Personality Full has received a new personality trait. Compassion is the tendency to phrase things carefully, take others’ feelings into account when raising difficult matters, and give weight to social harmony when deciding what to say.
An improved Openness to perspectives and Open-mindedness
Applies to:
- Personality Full (Openness to Perspectives)
- Personality Compact (Open-mindedness)
We’ve updated all items related to these scales so that they focus on openness to different ideas, viewpoints and ways of thinking, curiosity about other perspectives, and willingness to take them seriously. The result is a more precise measurement and clearer, better-targeted feedback and reports.
Reusing assessment results
Applies to:
- Personality Full
Candidates can normally reuse their results if they have completed the test earlier. This update introduces an exception that only applies to Personality Full in certain cases.
Since we are making substantial improvements to two traits in Personality Full, candidates who have completed tests with the old traits cannot reuse their results. After completing the new version of the questionnaire, they can of course reuse these results as normal.
(SKJERMBILDE)
Personality Compact is not affected by this update, and candidates can reuse these results as normal.
